 literally means nothing more tha n “a gathering,” but apparently this is the 6th annual event. It’s sort of a smaller and milder Wekfe st, a show focused on Japanese tuner cars.

Aside from the expected smell of weed (surprisingly, not that many vapers), a forest fire also blanketed the Bay Area with smoke. Senpai/Hentai-themed shirts were everywhere, and worn by people of all races. Lots of families with little kids too; everyone seemed to be having a good time. Some incredible engine swaps as you can see in the photos!

I mingled for a short while with some friends, until introvert mode kicked in more suddenly than VTEC, yo.

Cool photos, it seems like a good time. When I see families at events like this it reminds me of lowrider culture and how the rest of the public way back then thought they were gangsters, when it was just people with hobbies.

Shame about the intro- v-tec kicking in for you. Is it a problem for you or are you cool with it?

I was completely cool with the show (except for the weed, that stuff bothers me)—the cars looked mostly well built, and the people were respectful and enthusiastic. My biggest annoyance with stance is road safety on poorly-done cars, and these didn’t really trigger me.

My level of social engagement varies, but ever since becoming a parent I’ve come to appreciate alone time with a nice cup of coffee or tea.

Thanks! The nature of my work ensures that I’m not allowed to have social anxiety. Anything I ever had has been firmly stamped out... ;)

I think most of the parents here would agree, braindead-time is hard to come by.

Saw an old Outback that looked totally stock except for wheels as insane as that on the freeway (in the pouring rain) this morning. AWD Subaru because traction. Crazy stance because too much traction?
